GEM-2018MF 16 port 10/100Mbps Ethernet Switch is designed for workgroup or department users. Rack-mount size metal case design combined with a safety certified internal power supply make the Switch the most robust product which is very cost-effective for less than 16 users environment. The plug-and-play and auto-negotiation capabilities allow the Switch to auto-detect its link partner (Ethernet adapter, for example) with the best speed. Each port provides full bandwidth (Maximum with 200Mbps in full duplex mode) without traditional hub's collision phenomenon downgrading the performance. Two 100Base-FX fiber module scokets interface the fast ethernet fiber module allows you to link to remote sites up to 60 kilometers away when play in the fiber modular . Every (cascade) port is provided to link to another Switch for more ports expansion. Easy read LED indicators are supported for cable installation and normal operation diagnostics. The Switch can be used on desktop and rack-mount.
VLAN Function(GEM-2018MF Only)
Packets from the source port are only forwarded to destination ports within the same VLAN domain. A Broadcast/multicast packet is forwarded to all ports within the same VLAN(s) of the source port except the source port itself. An unicast packet is forwarded to the destination port only if the destination port is in the same VLAN as the source port. If the destination port belongs to another VLAN, the packet is discarded and the event will be recorded as a VLAN boundary violation.
